Justice Minister Appeals BC Court Ruling on Assisted Suicide

A A

July 13, 2012

We are thankful to hear that the recent BC court decision that struck down our laws against assisted suicide is being appealed by the government of Canada. In a statement from the Rob Nicholson, the Minister of Justice, the government rightly noted that Parliament has already determined that Canada does not want to go down this road. The case is being appealed to the BC Court of Appeal and will likely end up in the Supreme Court of Canada.

ARPA Canada is very grateful for the work of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition (EPC) for their tireless defense of human life. They have much more information about this case and this issue. We are also grateful to some of our readers who have been making a visible witness for life on the steps of the court in Vancouver both when the case started and when the decision was made.
