Interacting with our new Liberal Government

02 Nov 2015 Interacting with our new Liberal Government

On the feature this week, Biblical advice on how Canadians should be interacting with the new Liberal government that was elected on October 19th. We feature clips from three sermons preached by three different men on the Sunday after the election: Rev. Abel Pol, preaching at the Yarrow Canadian Reformed Church, Derek Baars at Providence Free Reformed Church in St. George, Ontario, and Rev. Edgar Unrau at Calvary Baptist Church in Chemainus, BC. The audio from the sermon in Yarrow isn’t available online yet (someone emailed us a copy of the audio file), but the full sermons from Derek Baars and Edgar Unrau are availablehere and here

In the news, the Bulkley Valley ARPA chapter in Smithers, BC, has precipitated a community-wide discussion about certain types of municipal infrastructure, after the municipal Council there voted to create a so-called “rainbow sidewalk” to recognize LGBT rights. ARPA members recently appeared as a delegation before Council, urging reciprocity in the creation of a sidewalk to honor the pro-life movement. The request was denied, but it continues to prompt considerable community interest.

The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada has unveiled a “Declaration on Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide” last week. The document, which also has the support of prominent elements of the Catholic, Jewish, and Muslim communities, is available online, here. You can also add your support at this page.

And ARPA is hiring again.  We have two positions, one for an admin assistant, and the other for a Web Developer & E-Activist.
