27 Mar 2012 God & Government 2012 – Report and Pictures

“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” -  Psalm 107:1 God & Government 2012 has wrapped up! And the experience was incredible. By God's grace, about 50 representatives from 16 ARPA groups and ARPA Canada were able to bring a Christian perspective directly to approximately 50 MPs and Senators. We were also able to host an evening reception, featuring Dr. Cornelis VanDam on the topic of multiculturalism. Perhaps best of all, we could spend an entire day devoted to meeting together as ARPAs and strategizing for 2012-2013.

20 Mar 2012 Prayer Request: God & Government 2012

Early next week, 50 men and women representing 16 ARPA chapters and ARPA Canada are converging in Ottawa to bring a Christian perspective directly to our nation's leaders. These ARPA reps have booked dozens of meetings with Members of Parliament and Senators on Tuesday. In teams of two or three, we are meeting with these leaders to discuss Woodworth's motion about the definition of a human being, aboriginal affairs, prostitution laws, and a wide range of other issues that are close to our hears and relevant to the leaders we are meeting with. On Tuesday evening we are hosting an event, also just for MPs and Senators, on the topic of multiculturalism. Dr. Cornelis Van Dam, who recently published a fantastic book about current political issues from a biblical perspective, will be doing the talk and taking the questions. We are giving a transcript of his talk (both English and French) to every MP and Senator in Canada.

27 Feb 2012 Now Available: God and Government by Dr. C Van Dam

(Credit card/PayPal checkout below) Acclaimed author, speaker, and ARPA Canada board member, Dr. Cornelis Van Dam has a new book published that we highly recommend for all Christians who care about applying our faith to public life. Appropriately titled "God and Government: Biblical Principles for Today" the book takes on challenging topics facing our society, like pluralism, the environment, and multiculturalism, and addresses them from a biblical perspective (click on the link to look inside the book at Amazon.ca). Unlike many other books of its kind, God and Government goes beyond the abstract principles and offers practical application. We are confident that it will be a valuable resource for Canadians, Americans, Australians, and Europeans for many decades to come.
