11 Apr 2008 Canada debates foetal homicide

Margaret Somerville | Tuesday, 8 April 2008 [from www.mercatornet.com] Sound evidence and sound language are absent in pro-choice arguments. Canada is debating Bill C-484, The Unborn Victims of Crime Act, which would make it a separate crime to injure or kill an unborn child in the course of committing a crime against a woman the accused knew to be pregnant. Abortion rights activists, who are fighting to defeat the bill, have announced that in early May a protest opposing it will take place in Ottawa. They "are (also) encouraging (pro-choice) supporters across Canada to hold similar protests as a sign of nationwide solidarity against Bill C-484." They claim the bill is "all about abortion." In view of the controversy Bill C-484 is raising, it's very important that we - in particular our politicians, who will vote on the bill - have our facts straight. It's one matter to correctly understand the bill and vote against it. It is quite another to do so on the basis of facts and arguments that are not correct.

14 Mar 2008 A Plea from Sam Golubchuk’s Family

My name is Miriam Geller, and I never thought that I would be writing such aletter.I am the daughter of SAM GOLUBCHUK, an elderly disabled World War IIveteran living in Winnipeg, Manitoba (in Canada).Last fall SAM, who has been living in a long-term care facility, came downwith pneumonia and had to be moved to a hospital. Thank God, the pneumoniawas cured. Unfortunately, due to his weakened condition, SAM has been unableto return to his home. He is currently receiving basic care at the hospitalwhich includes being given food and water and assistance in breathingthrough the use of a ventilator.SAM isn't on any medication and he is in no pain. He's just old and weak.In November the hospital, without our permission, attempted to withdraw thisbasic care, letting our father die. We obtained an emergency Court Order tostop them from doing so, which they tried - and failed - to have reversed. Now the government is forcing us to return to Court again as it fights, attaxpayers' expense, to have the Order overturned.

10 Jan 2008 The Birth Control Pill and Abortion

by Jaclyn VanderHorst* Our Father knits us together in our mothers’ wombs in a very unique way that has never been duplicated in all of history. A new human being is created when the sperm fertilizes the egg and after this combination of the male’s and female’s separate chromosomes there are no major additions. The sperm and the egg cannot exist or develop on their own, but once joined this new human will simply require the right environment and the right nourishment to grow and continue to develop through varying degrees of dependency and independence onward through their lifespan. God has created and guides this wonderful process, and so another person is made in His image, for His purpose and to live to His pleasure and glory.

18 Dec 2007 Riding in the Dark

by Rod Taylor [Republished with permission from CHP Skeena-Bulkley Valley]Every year we lose a riding in Canada. That is, we lose every person in the riding. That is, we lose the population equivalent of one federal riding. I refer, of course, to the more than 100,000 innocents killed each year by abortion. The Skeena-Bulkley Valley Riding, showed a population of 99,474 souls in 2004. That is, the combined populations of Smithers, Telkwa, Terrace, the Hazeltons, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, the Queen Charlotte Islands, Moricetown, Dease Lake, Telegraph Creek, Atlin, Gitseguecla, Lower Post, Fort St. James, Houston, Burns Lake, New Aiyansh, Port Edward, Bella Bella, Bella Coola, Lachkaltsap, Iskut, Gitanyow, Quick and all the smaller communities add up to less than the number of babies we allow to be killed in Canada each year.
